Books We Missionaries Love
Our family loves to read and be inspired by other mission-driven people running hard for the Lord! This is a quick list of some of the titles we’ve enjoyed over the years. We’ll keep adding to it over time. May you be encouraged, convicted, inspired, and compelled to make the most of your days!
The List:
The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun. An amazing auto-biography of a front running missionary to the wild growth of the underground Church in China.
The Insanity of God by Nik Ripkin. Basically an origin story of a couple who trains & equips the Church to follow Christ into the worst of persecution!
The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, by John Mark Comer. Refreshing insight into the current culture of busy-ness, and how to reclaim your time & peace.
Crazy Love, by Francis Chan. A counter-culture take on what it looks like to be deeply in love with God, and giving all of yourself over to following Him.
They Were Christians, by Cristobal Krusen. Historical biographies of Christians who had a great impact, following the Lord in their own ways.
Follow Me, by David Platt. Exploring the depth of losing your life but gaining Christ, its a call to follow Jesus through Scriptures, not man-based tradition.
Let Me Die in Ireland, by David Bercot. The authentic, stirring account of “St. Patrick”, his suffering and sacrifice, and how he became a man known around the world.
Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, by Nabeel Qureshi. A powerful story of the clash between Islam and Christianity in one man’s heart—and of the peace he eventually found in Jesus.
The Cross and the Switchblade, by David Wilkerson. The true story account of the founder of Teen Challenge Ministries, and his work with violent gangs.
Chasing Slow, by Erin Loechner. (Kalon’s still reading this one.) An enjoyable read of one woman’s shift from social media influencer to ministry work.
There are so many more that we hope to share in the upcoming months, until then, enjoy reading!
